As for as I know, it's extremely unlikely for someone to brick an iPhone or iOS device. You can certainly mess up during the process if you are careless, but you would just have to restore it or go into DFU mode. So I wouldn't be afraid.

Are there any good articles out there re graphics for the current video game generation? If both the 360 and PS3 use hdmi at 1080p/720p what will make there graphics any different?

You waited this long? Then i'd suggest you wait a bit more. The next iPhone will have a Dual Core processor and that itself makes it much faster than the iPhone 4.
At least wait until WWDC in June and then make your decision. But there's no harm in waiting. Unless you need it.

I wonder why they picked "Allume" as their new name.
A few years ago, a US law went though that makes it easier to sue for trademark dilution (which is when a "famous" trademark holder feels that its image is threatened by another product or business using the same name, even if there is no product overlap). "Stuffit" and close variations are in use out there for other things, so the name isn't as string as it might be.
Made-up words like Allume are easier to protect exactly because they're made up; it pretty much eliminates the "common words" defense and it's a lot less likely that someone else will have invented the same word.
The other part of the story is that Aladdin were initially fighting to keep the name, but after they were bought by IMSI, the new parent company didn't want the legal expenses.

in order to get a new macbook i need to present a broken one to some people, ive had the black macbook for 3 years and I am tired of it overheating and burning me when browsing youtube. How could i make it appear broken without actually harming it or any data on it? i know this is a very weird question.
also can the new macbook 13" pros with the i5s handle games just as well as the previous nvidia ones? thanks

Because they ran out of ideas.
When all else fails just slam a bigger camera in there. Just play the specs game. Never mind the software ecosystem.
Err? It runs Windows Phone 7 so it will be able to run all of the Windows Phone 7 apps and it also syncs with Zune or iTunes (via Windows Phone 7 connector on Mac) in just the same way as iPhone does.
Remind me again what part of the "software ecosystem" is missing here?

Do these actually do anything for CPU and GPU temps? They will make the surface of the case cooler to the touch so they don't feel so hot. However they do not actually add any air flow to the heatsinks nor increase the heatsink surface area. So I do not see them actually effecting the temps meaningfully.
Most Windows laptops may benefit since the air intake for the heatsink is usually on the bottom. So on standard rubber feet there is a very small gap for air to squeeze through. The vent also usually gets blocked when in someones lap.
Macbooks on the other hand are actually designed to be laptops. Their intake and exhaust is out the back of the computer. Whether on your legs or sitting on a flat surface there is no restriction to airflow.
I would be interested in seeing some actual reviews of these. Where they put the CPU and GPU under 100% load and get reading of the CPU and GPU temperatures. With traditional notebooks with a bottom intake and what I would qualify as laptops with a rear intake and exhaust.

I like to own my downloaded stuff like I would own a CD/DVD.
You own the physical CD/DVD/Blu-Ray, but you only license the content, whether from physical or now, digital media.
I really do hope this means more money going to the musicians and not the labels.

I'll only comment on one thing I noticed... lots of awkward an trapped negative space. Like the upper right hand corner is all just trapped negative space which doesn't flow at all.

So does anyone else think apples next bluetooth keyboard should have backlit keys? and possibly black coloured keys, like macbook pro's etc, instead of white.
Is this possible?
What are your opinions - lets discuss.

The update weighs in at 1.93 MB
Did I mention that updates are ones and zeros and have no actual weight. MB refers to the number of ones and zeros in groups of eight. Numbers don't actually weigh anything, so you probably shouldn't write this same trite phrase every time you want to mention how big a file is.
I'm just saying, that's all.

you think they would do something like what they did with the earlier macbooks when 802.11n came out and have you buy an enabler. So i guess i'm saying do you think that apple already put blue-ray drives in.
Not likely, it was discovered the day they released the 802.11n cards that they were the faster wireless. Someone by now would have opened up a new Mac Pro and discovered the Blu-Ray drives if they had done that.

How old is your PB - there was a battery recall.
I hope that PB was fixed under warranty.. heck, even if it is no longer warranty I expect it to be fixed!

Can't you just do that in Parallels? Why do you need Boot Camp for simple streaming?
B
I am not 100% on how to use parallels
Basically I just need that one stupid site to stream, so I need to find a way to stream and I wont have to worry about windows ever.

Hmm... an Apple website replaced by a section on iTunes... this is obviously proof that Apple intends to pull the entire World Wide Web into iTunes and create a walled garden where the entire internet is controlled by THEM, MUHAHAHA!

BTW how much were you looking on spending?
I want to spend no more than $900. However, the less the better. What is keeping me from buying a G3 ibook (or something) is that I've heard you have to get a battery and by the time you get a battery it's only $200 or so off from an apple refurb. If you know of any deals/places to get one let me know-- so long as it can do wireless internet (for wifi spots) and word processing. thanks :)
