We always felt we were limited by certain open source projects, so we built our own. We have limitations on some of our remote systems, but we have no limits to the customizations in our proprietary CMS.

Basically you are freeing memory you did not malloc/calloc. Your double returnElement within the last loop is requesting space to store a double. This will be on the stack. You are not mallocing or callocing the space for this double (if you did it'd be in the heap). You then memcpy into this space (which is fine: you are allowed to do that). You then free the space that is on the stack. You can't do that. You can't free on the stack. That is automatically done when the current stack frame is popped.
My main concern was that the malloc within the memcpy did not have its own free statement. But, if I understand you correctly, the act of copying from the heap to the stack has the same effect of free()? So free() is only required to release memory that resides on the heap?
If that doesn't make sense (if you don't know what the heap and stack are for example) it's time to learn basic C properly...
Trying to. Understanding basic CPU architecture (heap vs stack) seems useful. I just started watching the MIT opencourseware*. Hopefully it will be in there. If not, any book recommendations?
*ah, so that's what is behind big O notation... cool...

hi,
I'm having trouble with vertical distance in GoLive.
eg: my home page.
I want to have a certain distance between various headings and sections of www.eclispenow.org but really can't seem to get the "box" tool working properly. Any ideas for guaranteeing vertical distance... without getting into html? (Html scares me at this stage.):eek:
I looked at your code and almost crapped my pants! Some scary case of DIVitis (among other things) going on in there. :eek: :p
I don't think anyone can help you until your code is cleaned up. :o

Hi everyone
Ever since I saw a 12" PB more than a decade ago I've been fascinated by it. I never bought one because at the time I didn't have the money for it but I'm now considering buying one just to have it (sounds odd perhaps but why not; it's a beautiful piece of equipment and why not save them for posterity?).
I am not very familiar with Tiger and the earlier OSs and therefore wanted to run Leopard on it. I've read posts here and also articles at Lowendmac about Leopard performance on the 12" PB. It seems that performance would be "ok", at least for less intensive tasks (like video editing and encoding).
So I'm wondering what upgrades (well, beyond adding RAM) are available for the 12" PB (processors, logic boards, harddrives etc) these days?
/p

calderone, great entry. You have mad design skills. What a battle that was! If you ever make a keyboard with that button, sign me up for one.

I considering heading to covent garden, but for me depends on whether we get pre-orders for delivery on Friday. If not then the weather. If its raining, I'll just go to my local store I think. Its inside a shopping center, so wont get wet. :)
hey v66jack, if you check out my link above, i also asked about pre orders and she said they would most likely not be shipping on the friday as couriers delivered iphone 4 too earlier too people (hence it being on a friday no deliveries at weekends which is a bit rubbish!)

Had to take a lot of quality out of this one to get it under 20K, but I just had to try... ;)
10 points™ to the first to guess where it's from... :) Edit: Not the same without the title theme from Chariots of Fire, of course but should still be recognizable...

1) HTML is not coding. It's not close to it at all. You will need to learn to program.
2) The GUI design tools are just that: layout tools only. You will have to write significant amounts of code to do what you want. You will need to be competent in Objective-C and learn your way around the CocoaTouch framworks
3) If you don't pay after a year your application gets removed from the store.

Does it make a difference where I purchase my iPhone 4?:confused:
It does now. AT&T has officially stated that they'll have two things for walk-ins without a preorder: Jack and ****. Nothing until 6/29. If you want one on 6/24, go to an Apple store and get there very early. Good luck.

Ok... this crap HP i have only has 256 ram. I have a few extra sticks of 256 lying around, but i have no way of knowing what type they are. Is there any harm in just sticking them in to see if they will work?

There should be a -1000 button for threads like these... Or - "Lowest Ranked".
the OP's post was obviously in jest and quite funny. are you that humorless about apple projects that you can't have a little fun?

So at one point in my code, I use mysqli_ping() to check if a connection to mysql is still alive. In C, doing this will actually reconnect the connection if it dies, but with PHP it just returns true or false, which is fine.
My problem is thus. On occasion, I get this error:
Message: mysqli_ping() [<a href='function.mysqli-ping'>function.mysqli-ping</a>]: Couldn't fetch mysqli
In an effort to prevent this, I have tried EVERYTHING I could think of to prevent the ping from being executed, to absolutely no avail:
if (is_object($conn) && mysqil_ping($conn))
if ($conn != null && mysqli_ping($conn))
if (!empty($conn) && mysqli_ping($conn))
if (isset($conn) && mysqli_ping($conn))
if (!is_null($conn) && mysqli_ping($conn))
try {
mysqli_ping($conn);
} catch (Exception $e){
}
I am totally at the end of my rope on this. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.
