I don't like the dark grey sliders.
Same with me. Why did they have to get rid of the Aqua style interface? I loved the glassy look before. But besides that, I love iTunes 7! :D

Man that new camera is going to look huge on the back of the phone if they don't make it bigger.

I think the point the video is trying to make is that buggy device drivers are a big hole into the OS (nothing earth shattering about that!). Presumably they did it against a Mac to get more publicity (and to be fair, if it had been a PC we'd have had people on here shouting about how insecure Windows is!), but the fact they used a 3rd party card raises lots of questions in my mind. The first is that it could be a single wireless card on the market that has such bad drivers that there are holes in all versions of their drivers. The second is that it is possible that they actually wrote the drivers themselves complete with holes they could "exploit". The thinking behind this suggestion is why on earth would any 3rd party manufacturer create a USB wireless card with Intel OSX drivers for it? (I don't think kernel device drivers can work under rosetta) - there wouldn't be a market for it at all. The other option is that the driver is the same one used for Airport, but in that case why not just exploit the Airport card?
IMO the message is a valid but simple one - your OS is only as secure as the device drivers it's using, but beyond that it's full of FUD

Hmm, a better camera? Well I never...
Seriously though, I just hope this megapixel bump comes with improvements to the sensor...that's why the iP4 camera looks better than the 8MP Evo

If Apple is selling tons of products, in a market with plenty of competitors, how can they be not competitive? 9.3% of buyers in the USA decided that for their money, a Mac is the best computer they can find.
They're not competitively priced. I wouldn't argue that they're not a competitive brand (HW,SW, marketing...appeal factor)...of course they are :)

Personally the Zune is looking fairly attrective right now. Ever since the 5th Gen iPod came out everyone has complained that it needed to be widescreen and have a bigger screen. I don't care for the WiFi sharing really but you have to admit the interface looks pretty nice.
Oh yes, a "click wheel" that does not actually have click wheel functions is such a nice interface...

Apple pleaseee don't put Flash on my iPhone! I'm tired of its memory leaks on my Mac with all the banner ads! I need to try that Flash blocker and see if that helps!

i may be wrong (and don't flame me if i am,) but it seems like the 6G ipod should make its way to the shelves instead of an updated 5G. the 5G has been out for almost a year , hasn't it?
I think Apple has really reached a fork in the road when it comes to the iPod.
Do they really want to start selling these things as vidoe players, not just music players that play video? If so, everyone knows they need a bigger screen and that is going to run up the price of the iPod.
So they have a choice:
(1) Introduce a true video iPod and ask more for it.
(2) Drop in bigger HDs into the current line.
The introduction of movie rentals might be a testing ground to see if people are really buying the idea. So if the iVideo Store (?) does well, this might indicate that people really want true, big scree video iPods. If it does so-so that might tell Apple that they should just keep the iPod primarilly a music player and the vidoe playback be an extra feature.
If they do introduce a more expensive, full screen iPod, they need a cheap[er], higher capacity only-music player too. This is where the Nano comes in. They need to be sure they have a good, well built, atractive line of Nanos for their customers that do not want to take the plunge to the video side.
The introduction of a new Nano and a video store but not a 6G iPod might indicate that they are stilling trying to decide which direction to take the 6G. I would say that if they do introduce the video store and a new Nano on the 12th a new iPod will be out before Christmas (no later that Thanksgiving, late November).
All this is based on the assumption that a true video iPod would cost more than the current line. I make this assumption based on the fact that they need bigger hard drives, bigger screens, and better battery. All these improvements are bound to increase the price.

It's actually the screen they will use for all old people who have droopy heads...
Regardless, here's hoping that tomorrow they release an iMac refresh to cover up some of the death grip publicity of the iFailphone 4.
HEY!, I resemble that remark!:D

How is that ironic (Miss Morissette)?
Because this forum, one that expends an epic number of posts lambasting Microsoft and anything it ever does, simply has to conceed that's it's doing a good job in this instance. Microsoft, making the Apple experience, better.

A number of recent reports have claimed that September 12th (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/08/20060831122800.shtml) will bring an Apple media event with iMac updates.
ThinkSecret now reports (http://www.thinksecret.com/news/0609sept12event.html) that Apple's September 12th media event will also introduce a 2nd generation iPod Nano and an updated 5G iPod alongside upgraded iMacs.
According to the rumor site the new iPod nano will feature larger storage capacities as well as multiple colors in a metal finish. Meanwhile, the new full-size iPod will simply sport upgraded capacities at the same price point. ThinkSecret does not expect the long rumored touch-screen video iPod until but does expect the introduction of the iTunes Movie Store at this event.

It's neither a math game nor marketing ploy.
Apple is not artificially limiting the number of attendees. It's a facilities issue. They are at maximum capacity for this venue. It's not like they can simply print out 5000 more badges. The fire marshal would shut the place down.
That's why local television coverage of professional sports have their blackouts lifted after a sellout. Not everyone who wants to watch can fit in the stadium/arena.
But there are larger venues available, so it is certainly possible to limit the number of attendees by choosing a venue that is too small.
It's a conference, not a rolling stones concert. You can't just infinitely scale upwards and provide a good experience. There are practical limits to the size of an audience you can have for useful sessions.

Skunk, all that you have presented above is one interpretation based on things we know about the history of the Canaanite people. This proposition posits that the history the Bible describes is not factually based, but a reinterpretation.
As I said before, I agree that much of the Canaanite people practiced polytheism. However, I believe, as scripture details, that God established a covenant with Abraham and from this covenant the Jewish nation was born. This action precipitated a change from polytheism to monotheism. I don't believe the commonalities that you point to indicate revisionist history. Many religions and mythologies share common concepts, common language, common historical figures, etc. Take Judaism, Christianity, and Islam as an example. They each have their own concepts of historical figures like Abraham and Jesus.
I understand that you think your view of the evidence is the correct view and I respect your right to have that opinion. However, the whole of both the Jewish and the Christian faith would disagree.

All iMac G5s have USB 2.0 - you're either mistaken or quoting your machine incorrectly.
You guys are right. I do have USB 2. It's just because system profiler didn't specify, it kind of confused me.

He doesn't know why he wants to build a good camera for Apple? Cause last time I checked Sony doesnt actually know what market they want to go in and just dips their feet into everything. Not mention Samsung has been doing much better in the smart phone market than Sony but are building most of the components in the iOS devices.

Toys R' Us?
I find it kind of embarrassing that Apple is choosing this as an outlet.
Say you'd own Apple and sold 100,000 ipads to Toys "R" Us making 10 (TEN!!) million dollars in profit (at $ 100 a piece or so) would you be embarrassed?
Hello?:-)
